Growing Stronger in Your Walk with God
Following Christ is not a one-day decision. It is a lifelong journey of faith, growth, obedience, and transformation.
Every believer is called to grow spiritually. Just as our bodies need nourishment to remain healthy, our spiritual lives need God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, and worship.
So how can we become stronger in our walk with God?

1. Spend Time in God’s Word
The Bible is God’s Word and provides guidance for our lives.
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
When we regularly read Scripture, we learn more about God’s character, His promises, and His purpose for our lives.
You do not have to begin by reading several chapters every day. Start with a manageable routine. Read a few verses, reflect on what they mean, and ask yourself how you can apply them to your life.
The goal is not simply to read the Bible. The goal is to allow God’s Word to shape the way we live.
2. Develop a Consistent Prayer Life
Prayer keeps us connected to God.
Make prayer a regular part of your day. Talk to God about your plans, your challenges, your family, your work, and your dreams.
Most importantly, learn to surrender your plans to God’s will.
A growing prayer life teaches us to trust God even when we do not understand everything happening around us.
3. Stay Connected to Other Believers
Christianity was never meant to be lived completely alone.
Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages believers to meet together, encourage one another, and continue in fellowship.
Being part of a church community gives us opportunities to worship together, learn together, pray together, and support one another.
There will be times when your faith feels strong and times when you need encouragement. A healthy Christian community helps us remain grounded through both seasons.
4. Serve Others
One of the best ways to grow spiritually is to look beyond ourselves.
Jesus demonstrated a life of service. As Christians, we are called to use our gifts, time, and abilities to bless others.
Serving can take many forms. You can encourage someone who is struggling, help within your church, support a community initiative, mentor a young person, or simply show kindness to someone who needs it.
When we serve others, we demonstrate the love of Christ in practical ways.
5. Make Worship a Lifestyle
Worship is more than singing songs on Sunday.
Romans 12:1 reminds us to offer our lives to God as an act of worship.
Our choices, relationships, work, words, and actions can all become expressions of worship when they are surrendered to God.
True worship continues long after the church service ends.
Key Take-aways
Keep Growing
Spiritual growth does not happen overnight.
There will be moments of victory and moments when you struggle. What matters is continuing to seek God and remaining committed to the journey.
At Living Word AGC, we believe in creating an environment where people can worship, learn God’s Word, build meaningful relationships, and grow in their faith.
Whether you are beginning your Christian journey or have followed Christ for many years, there is always room to grow deeper in your relationship with God.
Do not focus only on how far you still have to go. Take time to appreciate how far God has already brought you.
Reflection
Ask yourself:
- Am I spending enough time in God’s Word?
- Is prayer part of my daily life?
- Am I connected to a Christian community?
- How am I using my gifts to serve others?
- What area of my spiritual life needs to grow?
Take the next step today.
